Climbing self-rescue course
An advanced course for rope teams already climbing multi-pitch routes who want to learn self-rescue systems that can be applied on the wall. We work on escaping the belay system, load transfers, hauling systems, rope ascents, assisting the second and retreat decisions.
Self-rescue does not replace good planning, but it gives a rope team options when facing a blockage, minor injury, stuck rope or a manoeuvre that does not go as planned. The course focuses on simple, repeatable and realistic systems for climbers who already know the basics.
We practise first on controlled terrain and then connect the systems in complete scenarios. The priority is understanding the logic, reducing errors, communicating clearly and making conservative decisions before a small issue becomes an emergency.

No. The goal is rope-team self-rescue with normal climbing gear, not professional rescue techniques or complex evacuations.
What gear do I need?
We work with rope, guide-mode belay device or similar, prusiks, slings, locking carabiners, ascenders or friction hitches and standard wall gear.
